Our Mission

The Mission of the Ridgetop Lakes Conservancy is to protect and preserve the natural environment of the Shawangunk and Mount Prosper ridge tops and surrounding areas by land acquisition and by promoting conservation through educational programs and seminars.

Ridgetop Lakes Conservancy, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) is 82-4699665.

We are run 100% by volunteers and pay no salaries or bonuses to staff.

In the furtherance of our mission, we aim to support, assist, and collaborate with existing environmental advocacy groups in our community and to build strength through unity among those advocating for the protection and conservation of the many freshwater lakes in the Shawangunk and Mount Prosper region. We do not compete with these groups.

Who We Are

Ridgetop Lakes Conservancy, Inc. (RLC) is comprised of people who have a passion for the natural environment that make the Mount Prosper and Shawangunk Ridges home to an abundance of flora and fauna. This pristine treasure is hidden in plain sight between urban sprawl to the south and desperate development of those to the north, making it a bullseye target from both sides. The need for long-term, strategic protection is urgent.

Employment

The RLC does not have any paid staff, nor do we anticipate hiring paid staff. If you have interest in unpaid, volunteer work, please use the contact page to make contact with us. We have opportunities to develop lake management plans, analyze water quality data, and conduct fundraising.
